Randy Valk is a leadership speaker and executive with over 30 years of hands-on experience in construction, landscaping, irrigation, and large-scale operational environments. He began his career in the field and progressed into executive leadership, giving him a rare perspective that bridges frontline reality with strategic decision-making. As President of Grassroots Landscaping & Irrigation (GRL) and Founder of Grassroots Resource Optimization (GRO), Randy has worked alongside municipalities and organizations navigating complexity, change, and high-stakes systems. 

At the core of Randy’s work is a simple belief: before we can test systems and processes, we must first test our leadership. Through his talks and his podcast, he explores how fear of failure, comfort with familiar habits, and avoidance of hard conversations can quietly undermine even the best strategies.
